What is baptism all about? In the Bible we see that those who made the important choice to follow Jesus and to make God the boss of their lives took the step of getting baptised.
Baptism is something that you do as a way of showing to others that you have made the choice to follow Jesus. Lots of churches have special service so that people can do this in front of others. It basically involves the person who is “baptised” being lowered under the water usually by a church leader. It may seem strange but it is a simple way of a Christian making that commitment to God public. It is a bit like a wedding where two people make a public commitment to each other in marriage. In being baptised you are making a public commitment to Father God and showing others showing other that you are a follower of Jesus.
